Pack bags and distribute food at the Beth Am Food Pantry.  The food pantry is open to the public the last Sunday of every month from 1-2pm. Setup begins at 12:30pm.  Volunteers are needed!  Contact Ilene Kaplan at becauseisaidso13@aol.com with questions or to signup.   Many thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers!

Shelve Donated Food at the Beth Am Food Pantry. Volunteer to shelve donated food once a month when it is convenient for you. Please contact Debbie Cohen at deb-cohen@comcast.net to schedule a specific week-of-the-month / day-of-the-week (i.e. 2nd Tuesday or 3rd Thursday) when you can shelve donated food. This job can be done when you drop-off children for Religious or Hebrew school, or at any other time you can regularly come to Beth Am.

Israel:Congregation Beth Am is a member of the North Suburban Coalition of Jewish Affairs (NSCJA).  Many synagogues in the area are members of NSCJA. The purpose of NSCJA is to organize and implement projects to benefit Israel.  Beth Am participated in the NSCJA Book Drive for Israel last January, and now NSCJA is organizing and promoting BIG Feature. The NSCJA meets the 3rd Thursday evening of every month.  The meeting site rotates every month to different participating synagogues. If you would like to attend the NSCJA meetings with others from Beth Am and from other congregations, or if you would like to be involved with getting these programs up and running at Beth Am, then contact Debbie Cohen.
