Beth Am was founded in 1979 by a small Chavurah. Originally our congregation was not aligned to the Reform Movement. In 1981, shortly before moving to Kingswood Methodist Church, Beth Am affiliated with the Reform Movement. Worship services were held at Kingswood Methodist Church until the congregation moved into its first building on Jenkins Court in Wheeling. In 1999, the congregation moved to its current site in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
